**The Butterfly** 2024-
I wasn't a huge fan of butterflies. I thought they were too simple and overused in symbolism. But as everybody else, I couldn’t help but admire them! And I also realized that butterflies have a special charm that resonates with everyone, no matter their background. Their representation of change and transformation just captivates people.
This discovery got me thinking about how butterflies hold meaning in a hospital setting. They bring a sense of hope and positivity that connects patients, nurses, and doctors alike. The delicate nature of butterflies also reminds me of my own vulnerability while navigating the challenges of working in a hospital.
As an artist in this environment, I often struggle to validate the importance of creativity. To express my journey, I decided to create my own signature butterfly drawing. And I've been exploring many butterfly-themed projects, like stamps and fun pins made from shrinking my drawings, but my favorite is the decals. Each one can be drawn individually, yet when we combine them, they create a beautiful mural. So far, we've completed four unique murals, and I can’t wait to see what we’ll create next!
