In a night club in Nolita, New York, the clubbers let me take photos of their belly buttons. This project resulted in a 5 by 5 grid with my bellybutton in the middle. This work is a portrait of my highly individualistic generation - it was inspired by the Brazilian saying "You only stare at your own belly button", which is used in describing a selfish person.
